Senior Vice President, Mission Delivery

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is the nations leading nonprofit dedicated to colorectal cancer. Together with a nation of passional allies, we advocate for prevention, magnify support and accelerate research to end this disease. Inequities in colorectal cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment among the most vulnerable communities continue to persist. Our programs are design to put health equity first. We are working towards the ambitious vision of ending colorectal cancer in our lifetime. We plan to achieve this vision by:

  • investing and influencing $500 million in research while helping to drive the annual overall nationwide investment for colorectal research to $600 million annually by 2028.
  • building and serving the world’s largest community and data set of colorectal patients to raise the five-year survival of mCRC from 13% to 35%.
  • leveraging screening and prevention efforts to raise the screening rate to 80% and save 100,000 lives.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The SVP, Mission Delivery at the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (Alliance) plays the critical role of overseeing the execution and impact of the three core mission functions of the Alliance: Screen, Care, and Cure for patients, families, and the country. The SVP, Mission Delivery will therefore implement and iterate on a successful and efficient approach to screening, patient/ caregiver services, and research. This role requires bringing these three pillars together to work creatively and effectively. The SVP, Mission Delivery will report into and work closely with the CEO to create and implement plans across all functions. The SVP, Mission Delivery will directly manage a current team of 4 people, and a broader team of 13.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Programmatic Management (40%):

  • Oversee all programmatic initiatives, projects and pilots for mission delivery for the organization, including Screen, Care, and Cure with community at the center of everything the team does.
  • Oversee the building and scaling of the world’s largest data set of patients to speed up bench to bedside research.
  • Continue to build, implement, and iterate on a successful and efficient approach to screening, patient/caregiver services, and research.
  • Support the building and scaling of the Cycles of Impact project, delivering on success in existing cities and potentially growing the project to include a defined number of new cities.
  • Oversee the research outputs of the organization, including research granting processes, as well as communications about the impact of research.
  • Utilize the organization’s research portfolio and health education campaigns to accelerate research findings and bring the latest scientific advancements to the CRC community as swiftly and simply as possible.
  • Develop and execute a vision for the Alliance as a leader in the research ecosystem with a strong value proposition of patient data as a critical piece of the puzzle.
  • Continuously assess and evaluate the success and return on investment of each initiative.
  • Articulate the value proposition of each initiative internally to staff and externally to funders andleaders in the field..

Team Management (30%):

  • Lead overall mission delivery including the Screen, Care, and Cure teams, providing mentorship and guidance to the Director and Senior Directors to foster effective collaboration across pillars.
  • Create partnership with Development Team leaders to support revenue generation formission work and key sellable programs.
  • Coach leaders, provide feedback, and ensure accountability for organizational and pillarperformance.

Executive Leadership Team (30%):

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, and mission delivery strategy.
  • Serve as a member of the Alliance’s Executive team, actively participating in the development andimplementation of the organization’s overall strategic framework and growth plans.
  • Create and monitor the yearly programmatic budgets, ensuring success in delivering oncurrent and future financial budgets and goals.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with leadership and team, board of Directors, partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Represent the Alliance with partners, donors, sponsors, and industry leaders to raise the profile of theAlliance and general awareness of colorectal cancer.

REQUIREMENTS:

The SVP, Mission Delivery will be an experienced leader with at least 10 years of healthcare leadership experience, including experience in the cancer space. The SVP, Mission Delivery will have at least five years experience working directly in the service of patients. The SVP, Mission Delivery must be energized by growthand show a willingness to try creative approaches to solve problems.

The SVP, Mission Delivery will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles, specializing in building productsand teams that impact life-saving strategies.
  • A minimum of a BA or BS; Masters strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with direct reports, colleagues, leadership, and keystakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and awillingness to share information.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly, foresee potential issues, and adapt as necessary.
  • A collaborative and flexible style with a strong service mentality.
  • Demonstrable passion for Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s mission.

COMPENSATION

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance offers a minimum salary of $200,000 for this role. The exact salary and bonus potential will be based on experience aligned to the role and responsibilities.
