LEAD FROM BEHIND, the colorectal cancer awareness initiative that kicked off with a video from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, has been nominated in the Webby and Shorty awards contests.
The Alliance-powered initiative has already ignited buzz, tallying more than 3.3 billion media impressions and increasing colonoscopy appointments made on Zocdoc. LEAD FROM BEHIND seeks to make colon cancer known everywhere as “The Preventable Cancer.”
The Webby Awards is an international award established in 1996 by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and has become one of the most prestigious accolades in the digital world.
LEAD FROM BEHIND was nominated in two categories — Public Service and Activism Video and Public Service and Activism Social. To take this honor to the next level and join previous winners like Humans of New York, Zach Galifianakis, and NASA, we need your vote!
Make sure to verify your email address and vote in each category to be fully counted for the People’s Voice award. Voting closes on April 20.
LEAD FROM BEHIND has also been selected as a finalist at the 15th Annual Shorty Awards. Our success in three categories — Non-Profit, Social Good Campaign, and Public Service Announcements — depends on you!
Founded in 2008, the Shorty Awards celebrate, inspire, and push the boundaries of excellence in digital storytelling. Previous winners include Michelle Obama, Trevor Noah, and Lady Gaga, as well as brands like Red Bull, Nestle, and BMW.
Will we join them and bring LEAD FROM BEHIND to even more people? Your vote matters in this contest, and you can vote in each category daily until April 26!
The Alliance is planning the next phase of its LEAD FROM BEHIND initiative now with Maximum Effort. Be the first to know about what’s next by following LEAD FROM BEHIND on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
