Melissa Lynch is a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources. She specializes in consulting and coaching executive leaders and teams to devise people-focused and business strategies. Melissa's expertise spans the entirety of the employer-employee journey, promoting growth and a positive organizational culture. In addition, she has been trained in leading strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. With a knack for problem-solving, Melissa boasts strong analytical skills and adaptability. She excels at navigating complex situations, implementing change, and building collaborative partnerships.

In 2013, after the tragic passing of her brother-in-law, Andrew, to Stage IV colon cancer at the age of 38, Melissa began volunteering with the Alliance. Three years into her service, she was invited to join the Board of Directors, focusing on people and strategy. After over four years on the Board, she was approached to serve as the Interim Chief People Officer for the Alliance. One year into this interim position, she was appointed to the role permanently. As the Chief People Officer, Melissa manages human resources, talent training and development, and the hiring and staffing needs of internal teams. Furthermore, she is responsible for directing the Alliance's volunteer strategy across all organizational pillars and departments.

Before her time with the Alliance, Melissa dedicated over a decade to Apple, Inc., where she served as a Market Leader. She was responsible for retail locations in the Mid-Atlantic region, spanning multiple states. The markets under her leadership generated over $400 million annually, employing up to 60 leaders and 1,200 staff members. Before her tenure at Apple, Melissa held leadership roles at Gymboree and The Walt Disney Company, where she worked in business, recruiting, and training & development, ranging from the east coast to the west coast.

Melissa currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA, after many years in Washington, DC. She cherishes moments with her family, friends, and beloved dog. Her passions include the beach, boating, and traveling.
