We’re happy to have our new Development Intern Matt Lechance join the Colon Cancer Alliance family! Matt’s a rising senior at American University where he’s double majoring in International Studies and Business. Help us welcome this Rochester, NY native!

What excites you most about joining the Colon Cancer Alliance?

This is going to be a great opportunity to see how a nonprofit runs from the inside. I’m also excited to learn more about fundraising efforts!

Tell us something interesting about yourself!

Last year, I studied abroad in Senegal during a French immersion program. It was amazing. I shared a house with 17 people and learned a lot about West Africa.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A rock star! I played guitar and sang—my dream was to make it big.

What’s your favorite ice cream and why?

First things first: no matter what the flavor is, it has to be soft serve because you can’t just buy soft serve at any grocery store. So I’d say chocolate, but it has to be soft serve!

What would you do if you won a million dollars?

I would by a plane ticket to Europe because I’ve never been and my first stop would probably be Brussels.

Don’t forget, the Colon Cancer Alliance serves as a source of information about colon health. If you have additional questions about colon cancer screening or are in need of support, please contact our free Helpline at (877) 422-2030. We’re here to help.
