You Asked. We Listened.

Interest in our National Conference grows every year and in order to meet the needs of our engaged community, we’re approaching it a bit differently this year. We heard your feedback from previous years asking for specific, targeted sessions that best meet your individual needs. That’s why this year, in partnership with our friends at the Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation, we will be hosting two smaller summits. These a la carte events will meet the needs of patients across the colon cancer spectrum, from newly diagnosed to long term survivors. We’re looking forward to these smaller, focused summits because alongside our expert speakers and partners, we will be gathering information and research so we can continue moving the dial forward in the area of colon cancer.

Registration is Limited

Here’s how it will work. Fighting a Smarter War on Advanced Colorectal Cancer: the Next Frontier will be limited in size, so interested individuals will fill out an application and will be notified if they are selected. The other two summit opportunities will be open to all who are interested. However, only a select number of stipends will be awarded to attendees based on financial need to help defray travel expenses.

In addition, for those who aren’t able to join us in person for Fighting a Smarter War on Advanced Colorectal Cancer: the Next Frontier, a pre-summit survey will be distributed this fall so we can gather as much information as possible about the unmet needs and challenges of stage IV and recurrent metastatic colon cancer patients and survivors. Our goal is to ensure that the summit is patient-centered and that your voice leads our call-to-action.

Here’s the scoop on the three summit options hosted by the Colon Cancer Alliance and Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation:

1. December 4 - 5, 2014: Fighting a Smarter War on Advanced Colorectal Cancer: the Next Frontier

Location: Washington, D.C. @ Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center/Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers

This 1 1/2 day leadership dialogue is designed for stage IV and recurrent metastatic colon cancer survivors and will result in a research paper. The summit focus will be identifying the unmet needs and challenges of the mCRC long-term survivor community. The summit will shed light on the patient perspective and will address psycho-social, physical, financial, family and relationship concerns. Attendance will be limited in order to have meaningful dialogue among survivors and medical practitioners.

2. December 5 - 6, 2014: Fighting a Smarter War on Cancer

Location: Washington, D.C. @ Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center/Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers

Hosted in partnership with the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center/Otto J. Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers, this 1 1/2 day summit is designed for those who are newly diagnosed or currently in treatment for colon cancer, and their caregivers. This patient symposium will focus on scientific advances, immunotherapy, clinical trials and emerging therapies. Meet other colon cancer and gastrointestinal cancer patients, survivors and caregivers and learn from international medical leaders.

Be sure to check back with us this fall for applications, surveys and more information! If you have additional questions, please don’t hesitate to call our free Helpline at (877) 422-2030. We’re here to help!
