Our top conference goal is to give patients and survivors hope and encouragement by providing the latest survivorship information in an environment where they can socialize and network. Many attendees say being among other patients and survivors at our conferences is one of the biggest sources of inspiration they have. In the words of one of our attendees:

2. Attending the Colon Cancer Alliance's National Conference is a must for patients and survivors!
The National Conference series is one of our signature resources for our patient community. Every conference detail, from topics to meals, is designed with patients, survivors and their families in mind. We include input from the medical community, as well as patients and survivors, when selecting all conference presentation topics to give attendees the latest information in colorectal cancer treatment and survivorship. In 2015, there were featured 14 presentations from 16 national experts. Our goal is to provide hope to the newly diagnosed and comfort to long-term patients and survivors.
3. We are moving towards an age of personalized cancer treatment.
We saw a recurring theme at last year’s conference: my cancer is not your cancer. A better understanding of genetics gave us landscape changes in treatment, particularly Stage IV. If possible, patients need to find out their MSI and KRAS status as some treatments respond better than others.
4. Clinical trials are hugely important to innovation and changes in patient care.
As every new treatment must go through clinical trials, all major treatment progress depends on them. Lack of participation in clinical trials slows new drug development and raises costs.
