We’re excited to announce we’ve teamed up with Lee Silverstein, creator and host of The Colon Cancer Podcast! Did you know people in 46 states and 28 countries have already tuned in?!

We got a chance to chat with Lee to learn a bit more about him and why he decided to start this awesome podcast.

Can you tell us about your journey with cancer?

As I shared on the first podcast episode, cancer has been a part of my life for most of my life. I was diagnosed with Wilm's tumor, a rare form of pediatric kidney cancer, when I was five years old. In 2011, my doctor sent me for my first routine colonoscopy when a tumor was found in my transverse colon. Since there was no lymph node involvement, we decide on colectomy surgery as the only treatment. Eighteen months later, less than three weeks after I got married, I was diagnosed with a liver metastasis. I had a liver resection followed by six months of FOLFOX. I received successful SBRT treatment for two small lung mets last January and I'm currently stable!

Why did you decide to start a podcast?cover170x170

I chose to start a podcast for three reasons: To provide hope and inspiration to those affected, either directly or indirectly, by colon cancer; to provide an outlet for people who want to share their story; and to provide education and information related to colon cancer.
