Team Britton’s Golf Tournament is Another Hole-in-One
Britton Butler, a proud Tennessee native, was only 22 years old when he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Though he faced a long journey ahead of him, Britton never lost his desire to help others. During his treatment, he wanted to raise awareness for other patients who were not as fortunate to experience the same support his friends and family provided him. When Britton passed away at 28, his family and friends took his dream and made it a reality.
In 2012, Britton’s family held their first golf event in his honor (Britton loved playing golf!). This year the Team Britton Golf Tournament took place on September 18 at the beautiful Willow Creek Golf Club in Knoxville, TN. More than forty golfers attended to play both 9 and 18-hole rounds and bid on items during a silent auction, including sports memorabilia from the University of Tennessee Volunteers and an autographed golf glove from professional golfer Phil Mickelson!
Since it started, Team Britton has raised more than $30,000 for our Blue Hope Financial Assistance program, which provides financial support to individuals getting screened or going through treatment. Congratulations to Team Britton on their continued success—we can’t wait to celebrate with you again at next year’s tournament!
