"We are the Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Class of 2018! We are a really close group and from time to time, plan days where we all wear the same color or pattern. We decided Dress in Blue Day was the perfect day to wear blue to class! We got involved because as future health care providers, we see the importance of routine screening and healthcare maintenance. Personally, my grandfather passed away from colon cancer and I have worked in Gastroenterology and Colorectal Surgery doing research on colon cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease so this is where my passion lies."
And what, you ask, do they plan on doing with their grand prize, a free inflatable colon rental?
"We are planning to hold a colon cancer screening awareness event on campus for the community! Our entire class is inspired by all the other entries and want to work hard to help prevent colon cancer!"

2017 Get Blued! Photo Contest Winner Announced!
We are pleased to announce the winner of our 2017 Get Blued! Photo Contest was none other than the Leahana Rowehl, PA-S and the Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Class of 2018! Their photo above collected more than 1,200 votes through the month of March.
