Colorectal cancer screening at 45 should begin yesterday
We need your help urging insurance companies to cover colorectal cancer screenings beginning at age 45. Join the Op45 advocacy campaign by demanding change from insurance companies today.
A body of government-appointed experts (USPSTF) says the new screening age is 45, which means insurance has to cover it with no cost to the patient, but it isn’t enforceable for all companies until 2023. For the 20 million people in the U.S. who are 45-49, it’s too long to wait.
How you can help
Urge insurance providers to adopt the new screening age of 45 by doing the following:
-
Call your insurance company using this script today!
-
Tweet your insurance company on social media. Get the toolkit here.
-
If screening at 45-49 would have helped you or a loved one, share your story here.
Great news
We applaud insurance companies who’ve recently announced covering CRC screening at 45.
