Vice President of Patient and Family Support

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is about to launch a moonshot to change the way the world is impacted by colorectal cancer and we are looking for a new member of our executive team to help us turn this bold vision into reality.  While the position of Vice President of Patient and Family Support exists at other nonprofits, what makes ours unique is that the Alliance has just kicked off a $100 million fundraising campaign to drastically scale our programmatic activities and radically alter the way this disease impacts the world.  If you have experience in patient education and program delivery, this is an incredible opportunity to join an organization at an inflection point in its history and use that expertise to change the world. 

So how do we get there?  There are some very important goals this position will need to accomplish in the first year on the job to help us achieve our ultimate goal of increasing the number of patients, families and caregivers served by the Alliance from the current 300,000 per year to our goal of 750,000 annually. They include:

  • Conduct a thorough landscape analysis of our current patient and family support programmatic offerings, identify gaps in the services needed for the colorectal cancer community and develop innovative solutions to meet those needs.

  • Create a comprehensive strategy alongside our Executive Team around the use of patient data to further increase clinical trial participation, further align precision medicine information, launch a CRC registry, and make sure patients and their families are receiving the most relevant information to them. 

  • Identify and develop effective strategies for how we would scale current programmatic activities to achieve exponential growth while incorporating best practices for patient and family support teams including navigation, one-on-one support, web-based assistance, and tangible materials.

  • Establish robust collaborative working relationships with Alliance staff in screening and research activities to help identify opportunities for synergy and improved outcomes.

The urgency of the situation due to the 1.4 million people in the US that have this disease requires that the right person for this job will come to the Alliance with a strong understanding of best practices in patient education campaigns and have experience in building and scaling programmatic activities for patients, families and caregivers.  We also need someone who has an appreciation for connectional intelligence and the concept that creativity and progress cannot be achieved in isolation but only through harnessing the collective power of people and networks.
