Are you looking for a meaningful job? Do you want to wake up each morning knowing the work you do will save lives and make a positive impact on those in need? Then come join the Colorectal Cancer Alliance team as a Program Manager! This is an incredible opportunity to join an organization and use your expertise to change the world.
The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research. Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.
Did you know that Colorectal Cancer is preventable despite being the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women combined in the United States? In an effort to address this challenge, the Alliance has just kicked off a $100 million fundraising campaign to drastically scale our programmatic activities and radically alter the way this disease impacts the world. The Program Manager will help our mission of eliminating this disease by effectively organizing programs and activities, managing grants, contributing to budget processes, and executing plans for programs.
There are some very important goals this position will need to accomplish in the first year on the job to help us achieve our ultimate goal of increasing our prevention efforts. They include:
Conduct research to develop best practices for colorectal cancer screening and prevention to support the Alliance’s strategic direction
Effectively assess and implement programmatic changes to create high quality grant programs that ensure project goals are achieved
Run a thorough landscape analysis to analyze risks as well as identify and develop effective prevention programs to achieve exponential growth
Develop effective policies and processes that allow us to track historical data and report on programs for fundraisers and stakeholders
Establish collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and Alliance staff in screening and research activities to help identify opportunities for synergy and improved outcomes.
It is not an understatement to say that this position will be part of a team responsible for saving thousands of lives and improving countless more. The urgency of the situation due to the 1.4 million people in the US that have this disease requires that we find someone who can deliver results immediately. We believe that previous experience in grant and program management as well as experience with public health education and project management is essential to prepare someone to be successful in this role. However, if you don’t have this background yet feel you could make the case for how your experience has prepared you to achieve these goals, we’d like to hear from you. Interested candidates may apply by sending an email with a cover letter and resume to email@example.com. Please include "Program Manager" in the subject of the email.
Some travel is required for this position based on the needs of the Alliance.
