The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research. Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this new position will be overseeing several key areas to help the Alliance achieve its important mission. The Director of Operations will oversee human resources for the Alliance and manage hiring, onboarding, and ongoing staff development to ensure an effective and high performing team. This position will also help ensure the successful execution of the organization’s strategic plan by assisting team leads in crafting and measuring goals.
Some objectives the successful applicant will need to achieve over the course of the first year include:
• Successfully assume management of key HR activities within the Alliance including hiring and onboarding
• Provide support and guidance to staff on goal development to ensure that all existing and new initiatives have clearly articulated SMART goals that are tracked over time
• Create and implement a staff development program that ensures Alliance employees have the training resources necessary to achieve organizational goals
• Develop and execute a logistical plan that addresses evolving physical infrastructure and organization culture requirements in light of the increase in Alliance staff working remote
It is not an understatement to say that this position will be part of a team responsible for saving thousands of lives and improving countless more. The urgency of the situation due to the 1.4 million people in the US that have this disease requires that we find someone who can deliver results immediately. If you believe you have the experiences and ability to successfully achieve these goals, we’d like to hear from you!
