Atlanta Program Manager

Are you looking for a meaningful job? Do you have a passion for health equity? Do you want to use your skills and expertise as a community organizer to help save lives? Then come join the Colorectal Cancer Alliance team as our Atlanta Program Manager!

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research. Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.

The Alliance is hiring a program manager specifically for the Atlanta region who will build a coalition and relationships with local organizations, health systems, volunteers, and leaders to drive screening in Atlanta, with a primary focus on the Black community. This is a focus because colorectal cancer is incredibly prevalent, preventable, and Black individuals are 20% more likely to be diagnosed and 40% more likely to die from it than other groups.

Some goals the successful candidate will need to achieve over the course of the first year include:

  • Conducting a swift and thorough landscape analysis of the current healthcare & colorectal cancer screening ecosystem in Atlanta to inform the Alliance’s position.
  • Power mapping to identify potential partners and champions.
  • Hosting listening sessions on topics like marketing collateral and messages, then distilling feedback for internal stakeholders.
  • Building a coalition of partners (community-based nonprofits, health care and public health entities, insurance payers, and businesses) to drive and deploy screenings.
  • Recruiting, training, retaining and mobilizing a group of committed volunteers.
  • Maintaining a tracking system for the coalition and interactions with constituents in Salesforce.
  • Monitoring outputs associated with the above activities and tracking project deliverables.
  • Coordinating internally across the marketing, development, and programs teams.
  • Collaborating with external and internal stakeholders to build relationships, implement and iterate on tactics, document process and progress, and disseminate learnings--all driving towards increased screening in Atlanta.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated success in:
    • Project management
    • Healthcare systems/organizations
    • Communities of color
    • Managing partners and volunteers
    • Event and meeting planning
    • Creating and iterating strategy and tactics
    • Collaborating with teams to define and drive a successful program
    • Showing measurable outcomes from the above activities
  • Passion for health equity and knowledge of historic and current barriers to achieving it.
  • Existing relationships within Atlanta’s healthcare community.
  • Existing relationships with gatekeepers and influential potential partners, especially Black-led organizations.
  • Experience in healthcare advocacy will be very useful.

If you believe you have the experiences and ability to successfully achieve these goals, we’d like to hear from you! Interested candidates may apply by sending an email with a cover letter and resume tojobs@ccalliance.org. Please include “Atlanta Program Manager" in the subject of the email.
