Public Relations Intern

Are you a current college student looking for a meaningful unpaid internship? Then come join the Colorectal Cancer Alliance team as our Public Relations Intern!

 

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance is a national nonprofit organization committed to ending colorectal cancer within our lifetime. We help patients, families, survivors, and caregivers navigate diagnosis and treatment options, connect them with those who can share experiences and knowledge, and identify resources to meet their needs. We partner with healthcare professionals and social influencers to raise awareness of preventative screening, and we collaborate with researchers to better understand the disease and fund critical research.  Our efforts are urgent, effective, and efficient because we believe that tomorrow can’t wait.

 

The responsibilities of this unpaid internship are:

  • Research new media contacts and update media database
  • Monitoring for media stories and ideas
  • Maintain media tracking reports and clippings
  • Craft media pitch angles
  • Assist with other media requests as needed

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Currently attending a 4-year college/university
  • Studying marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism
  • Strong writing, research and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Past PR experience preferred, but not required

10 hours per week

Spring 2024 Internship (January-May). Possibility to start earlier, if able.

Senior Director of Communications & Public Relations
