Welcome to the newest member of the Colon Cancer Alliance family: Jordan Winn! As Manager of Individual Giving, Jordan will be jumping right in to work with our community and raise funds to help propel our mission. Welcome, Jordan!
What excites you most about joining the Colon Cancer Alliance?
Coming to work each day knowing I have the opportunity to help save lives is so fulfilling! If that wasn't enough, the people I'm working with are truly the best - I would be hard pressed to find a team more dedicated to this cause. I want to thank each of them for welcoming me into the family!
What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
It's probably a tie between skydiving and selling educational books door to door for 80+ hours/week the summer before my senior year of college. Skydiving is on this list because I like to think I am more adventurous/spontaneous than I actually am. I also know every Gilmore Girls scene and can recite what season/episode/episode title it came from - but that probably wouldn't surprise anyone who has spent five minutes with me.
If you could only watch one movie for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival could be considered a movie, that for sure would be it. Otherwise I'd have to say "The Italian Job" - I have yet to go to Italy but it's on my bucket list. This move is also the perfect combination of thriller, comedy, romance and action. Plus, you can't go wrong with Mark Wahlberg.
If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be and what would you order?
The fan girl in me would say Lauren Graham, but I actually would be lucky to have lunch with Dean Smith. His philosophy on coaching, ability to lead by example and genuine care for each player he coached is something every person can learn from and strive for (basketball coach or not). Dozens of quotes are coming to my mind but my favorite of his is this: "Basketball is a team game. But that doesn't mean all five players should have the same amount of shots." Staying true to our Chapel Hill roots we would eat at Sutton's and both order a hot dog with fries (sorry, Dad!).
