We’re thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of the Colon Cancer Alliance team – Ms. Adina Frazier, Director of Special Events. For the last seven years, Adina has been the Director of Special Events at the Epilepsy Foundation. She joins us after having worked with many other run/walks, including the National Walk for Epilepsy, the Komen National Race for the Cure and the Whitman-Walker Clinic Aids Walk, among others. She is natural convener and loves cooking uberly fabulous and calorie-laden food from scratch. Please join us in welcoming Adina to the family!

Why are you excited to join the team?

I view joining the team at the Colon Cancer Alliance at this time as a huge opportunity. The organization is embarking on big things, and I get to be a part of the next big evolution. I can see the growth that has occurred, and the ways in which the organization is now positioned to have an even greater impact with the colon cancer community, especially around the message of prevention.

What do you love about the Undy Run/Walk?

The Undy Run/Walk series has been such a success. The idea of taking something that may be a bit taboo to discuss, and injecting a little humor into it by way of having participants dress in boxers instead of traditional event shirts is BRILLIANT. In just the few weeks that I have been here, I have spoken with volunteers in different cities that are so passionate about this event and it really does invigorate you. I love being involved directly with the people who are touched by the funds raised through the Undy.

What was your first thought when you saw the giant inflatable colon and toilet paper roll?

I haven’t had the chance to see the giant colon or TP roll “live and in living color.” But from pictures, they look HUGE. I can imagine that besides being a great conversation starter for adults, they are magnets for kids. I can’t wait to take my first tour through the colon!

Where do you want to take the Undy?

I look forward to working with the team to utilize the series to expand the reach we have with local Blue Hope Partners as well as our initiatives at the national level to fund research and provide access to screening and treatment. It is gratifying to know you can have such an enormous impact on the number of people diagnosed with colorectal cancer through the funds raised at this event, and I am just so excited to be a part of that.
