Yep, that's right! Colon cancer's Blue Star is celebrating its 10th birthday today. Introduced on April 1, 2004 by the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT), the Blue Star represents  the eternal memory of the people whose lives have been lost to the disease and the shining hope for a future free of colon cancer.

10th bdayThe star, merged with a ribbon to represent increased awareness, assumes a human shape. The Blue Star raises awareness about how to prevent colon cancer, the nation’s third-leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. Alongside other leading colon cancer organizations, we encourage organizations and people like you to spread the Blue Star and the message that colon cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable in any way you can. Over the next four years, the Blue Star will be instrumental in helping us achieve the 80% screening rate by 2018 goal. Learn more about the blue star.

Test your blue star knowledge on this fun and interactive quiz, brought to us by our friends at the NCCRT and Given Imaging. Will you pass the test?
