When’s the last time you made some noise about the second deadliest cancer in the United States? This year, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance is bringing you 17 opportunities to #WalkLoud and show up in the mission to end colorectal cancer.
If you’re anything like us, you’re outraged at the fact that more than 50,000 lives are taken from us each year by a highly preventable disease.
“Unfortunately, there is a stigma surrounding colorectal cancer that prevents people from getting lifesaving screenings that could help to end this disease,” said Chelsea Edwards, Senior Director of Peer-to-Peer Giving at the Alliance. “That’s why it’s more important than ever to stop the silence, reject the stigma, and cancel this killer at the Walk to End Colon Cancer.”
Now’s your chance to disrupt the status quo. We must remain united and #WalkLoud to end this disease for good. Through these powerful walks, allies, patients, survivors, and families can come together to heal, to hope, and to be UNsilenced.
“Your voice and presence matters. We encourage you to utilize this space to authentically honor any emotions that might come up for you,” Edwards said. “It’s OK to not be OK – together, we will end the trauma.”
