Racing for Research in Sunny California
Surrounded by northern California wine country and a beautiful blue sky, friends, family and members of the colon cancer community came together to run and raise funds in memory of a beautiful soul: Roanne Cairel. On November 7, 2015, the fourth annual Roanne’s Race was the most successful so far—raising $12,500 for early-onset colon cancer research.
Roanne’s Race was inspired by Roanne Cairel, who was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer at just 19 years old and sadly passed away five years later in 2011. She always selflessly asked what she and her family and friends could do to help shed light and support research on colon cancer diagnoses in young people. Roanne’s Race came from that desire, and Roanne’s community has helped raise more than $40,000 towards the Colon Cancer Alliance initiatives dedicated to early-onset research.
Congrats to Roanne’s Race and their entire community for another successful event! The Colon Cancer Alliance is honored to count you as some of our strongest allies in the fight to end colon cancer.
