About Me:
After being diagnosed with colon cancer a few months ago, I began to research the disease. I was surprised to discover that this cancer is the second largest cancer killer. I was even more shocked when I found out how curable colon cancer is when discovered early. I, myslef, was not aware of how routine screenings can save lives. Of course, I had never been screened at such a young age (diagnosed at age 29). My cancer was found by accident during surgery. However, most people I know, even those over 50 years old, have not been screened either. This is what draws me to the Voices Campaign. I would love to help increase awareness of colon cancer. I would love it if people felt comfortable talking about colon cancer. I think sharing my story may help people, and I love to be involved. - Charlotte Loines, Coordinator of Voices of Northwest Tennessee
