About Me:
My mother was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer with liver mets in December of 2001. In my quest to try to understand the disease, since it was not openly talked about, I searched for information and support. That's how I came across CCA's website and in 2003 I became a member. In addition I was interested in contacting other caregivers and survivors of colon cancer and asked about chapters in my area. Then in 2005, I was contacted to begin a new chapter in New Hampshire and Voices of Southern New Hampshire was created! My life goal is to help spread the word about colon cancer and get people to openly talk about it. It was not until after my mother was diagnosed that we discovered we had a strong family history of colon cancer. This has motivated me and my family to talk to everyone and share our knowledge and encourage everyone to be screened. -Mackenzie Field, Coordinator of Voices of Southern New Hampshire
