About Me:
Over ten years ago, my mother was diagnosed with colorectal cancer . Then seven years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The first thing I learned about colorectal cancer is how preventable it is and yet so many people die from it. I could not understand how this could be happening. I tried to find colon cancer organizations but found there were none. A few years after my mom was diagnosed, a close friend of mine was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and died. It was then that CCA was established and I knew that I had to do something to prevent this from happening to others. My mom is one of the fortunate ones, but there are so many people facing this battle. I want to keep them from having my mom's experience and also prevent deaths. I want to help prevent deaths from a very preventable cancer. I think every effort is needed and that is why it has become my mission.
