South Florida
On Saturday, January 21, 2011 the Colon Cancer Alliance hosted the first 2011 Undy 5000 in Lake Worth, Florida. Over 325 people came out to run in their undies. Floridians helped the CCA raise close to $55,000! A portion of funds raised were dispersed to CCA’s local screening partner, Digestive CARE to help support local screening and treatment efforts. San Diego
On Saturday, March 19, over 600 people came out to Mission Bay Park for the second annual San Diego Undy 5000 hosted by the Colon Cancer Alliance. Despite threats of rain, participants ran in their underwear to help raise awareness about colon cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. With 101 team members, the Blue Ribbon Booties broke the record for the largest team to have ever been formed in Undy history. Read more ![]()
St. Louis
On Saturday, March 26, almost 1,400 people came out to Forest Park for the third annual St. Louis Undy 5000, hosted by the Colon Cancer Alliance. Despite sub-freezing temperatures and forecasts of afternoon snow, participants ran in their underwear (and long johns) to help raise awareness about colon cancer, the second-leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Breaking the previous team participation record set just one week earlier in San Diego, Team Ervin had 105 team members attend on Saturday, making it the largest team in Undy 5000 history. On Saturday, June 25, the 2011 Denver Undy 5000 hosted by the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) was held at City Park in Denver, CO, raising over $100,000 in the fight against colon cancer for the third year in a row. Over 1,250 people came out to run in their underwear to help increase awareness about this highly preventable disease and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Jersey Shore
On Saturday, July 23, 2011, the 2nd Annual Jersey Shore Undy 5000 was held near Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ, raising more than $80,000 to fight colon cancer! Despite 100+ degree weather, 662 participants showed up in their underwear and costumes to increase awareness about the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Councilwoman Joy Bastelli came out in her blue dress to start the opening ceremony, as well as to begin the race on the boardwalk. Read more

Tacoma
On Saturday, August 20, more than 250 people came out to Cheney Stadium to raise awareness about colon cancer, the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the US. The weather was perfect for the 2011 Tacoma Undy 5000 and participants had some great underwear-themed costumes! Though the Undy 5000 makes light of a serious topic, the event concluded with a very intimate and inspiring ceremony. Ten colon cancer survivors got a chance to speak and be recognized for their valiant fight, while surrounded by hundreds of supporters. Read more

Philadelphia
Despite flooding from severe weather in several parts of Pennsylvania, nearly 600 people ran around in their underwear in Philadelphia on Saturday, Sept. 10, in honor of and in memory of those who have been directly affected by colon cancer. It was all part of the plan as the participants of the 4th Annual Philadelphia Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk ran on MLK Drive, near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and raised just over $110,000 to fight colon cancer. On a perfect Saturday afternoon, nearly 400 people in their underwear participated in the 2nd Annual Cincinnati Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk to fight colon cancer, helping raise nearly $75,000 for the Colon Cancer Alliance and local colon cancer screening programs. Dallas
Some dressed in costumes, and others dressed in underwear and their bare minimums. Either way, nearly 800 people participated in the 4th Annual Dallas Undy 5000 on October 29 in honor of and in memory of those who have been directly affected by colon cancer. The event raised about $120,000 – the highest recorded total for a Dallas Undy – to help support colon cancer screening programs of Mary Crowley Cancer Research Centers, as well as to fund national and local patient support and educational programs of the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA). Despite almost-freezing temperatures, about 380 people participated in the DC Undy 5000 at West Potomac Park on November 5. While most were not in just their undies, most participants had some form of underwear on over their sweatpants and jackets, showing camaraderie for the cause – to fight colon cancer. Read more![]()

On a sunny Saturday morning, 1,313 people ran in their underwear in honor of and in memory of those who have been affected by colon cancer. The 4th Annual Phoenix Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk was held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the State Capitol became the highest grossing Undy 5000 in the history of the event, raising just over $150,000!
