Dallas Undy is Big Hit for 3rd Year in a Row
The third annual Dallas Undy 5000 took place on Saturday, October 30, at 8:30 AM. More than 600 people came out to Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake to help raise awareness about colon cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Many participants came out in Halloween costumes and there were many clever colon cancer and undy-related outfits.
Dallas residents helped the CCA raised more than $80,000 to go toward local and national colon cancer screening and support programs. A portion of the funds raised were also dispersed locally to fund treatment services for those diagnosed with colon cancer.
Regional sponsors of the 2010 Dallas Undy 5000 included Texas Colon and Rectal Specialists and ALON USA. National sponsors of this event included Amgen Oncology, ASCRS (American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Bristol Myers Squibb, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Genentech, MITA (Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance) and Salix Pharmaceuticals.
