2009 Seminar Highlights

The CCA's Conversations about Colorectal Cancer: Finding HOPE (Healing. Options. Peer support. Education.) in your Community regional seminar tour was a huge success in 2009. This free educational program promoted a sense of hope and empowerment by offering information about the latest treatment advances and giving attendees the opportunity to listen and support one another in their fight against colorectal cancer.
Nearly 500 patients, survivors, family members, caregivers and advocates participated in the 2009 seminar tour.
Interactive sessions included the latest on treatment advances, including sessions on oncology, radiation oncology, surgery and interventional radiology. Survivors and caregivers also participated in peer-to-peer support forums.
The seminar tour received overwhelming praise. Review how attendees rated the 2009 seminar tour. Comments included:
"This seminar was so eye opening for me. My sister is the first one in our family to have cancer and we don't know that much about it, so this was very informative."
“How I wish I had had some of this definitive information on practices and techniques in the beginning of this journey. Very helpful and most appreciated!”
The 2009 educational seminar series was funded by an educational grant from Sanofi Aventis, Amgen Oncology, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Genentech BioOncology.
