CCA Research

The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) is committed to creating a world free of colon cancer. We conduct and support innovative research that:

1. Advances biomarker research
2. Understands why those under 50 are increasingly diagnosed with colon cancer
3. Decreases late-state diagnosis of high-risk populations
4. Closes the referral gap for screening and diagnostic testing
5. Advances long-term survivorship psychosocial concerns

We view patients, researchers, medical institutions and industry as pivotal allies for pursuing this mission.

Our research programs and activities include:

Matching Patients with Front-Line Research Trials

Programs like our Clinical Trial Matching Service connect patients to cutting-edge treatments and new colon cancer therapies. Through these clinical trials, doctors and researchers are able to develop and improve lifesaving colon cancer treatments.

Funding Local Research

The Community Health Partnership Grant Program provides funding to community partners that will help the CCA further our mission to provide hope and support to patients and their families, while saving lives through screening, access and research. The grant program is funded by the CCA’s Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk.

Collaborating on Research Projects

To increase screening rates and improve the quality of life for survivors, the CCA conducts research studies on colon cancer screening barriers, treatment outcomes and survivorship issues. We have partnered with organizations and companies to conduct various types of research including national surveys, white papers and abstracts. Read more about our collaborations.

Leading Research Efforts

The CCA has identified leaders in the field and will be releasing a white paper in 2013 that addresses the steady rise of patients under 50 who are diagnosed with colon cancer. Read more about this white paper.
