Exciting Opportunities for CCA Staff
Stacie Mishler, CMP, has joined the CCA as the new Undy 5000 Event Director. She has been involved with fundraising and event planning for non-profit organizations since 1993. Most recently Stacie was the Event Director for the Parkinson's Unity Walk and was responsible for bringing in over 10,000 people to NYC's Central Park for a day of Community, Education and Fundraising. Working directly with team captains, individual fundraisers and sponsors, she was instrumental in growing awareness and funds for this event in addition to other Parkinson's disease events.
After losing a close friend to breast cancer at the young age of 32, Stacie co-founded the Jill Marie Tulli Breast Cancer Foundation at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and created numerous fundraising events and appeals to raise funds that went directly to research. With these funds, the Jill Marie Tulli Breast Cancer Resource Room at the Fox Chase Cancer Center Pavilion was established.
Stacie has plans to increase the Undy 5000 throughout the United States in a way that will help bring further awareness of colon cancer and the need to get screened, while raising much needed funds. She looks forward to making these events opportunities for the community to get together with one common goal: to end the suffering and death caused by colon cancer.
Andrea Clay, former Undy 5000 Event Director, will now be using her talents to serve and grow our nationwide network of volunteers as Associate Director of Field Development. "I am very excited to move to into a new role within the Colon Cancer Alliance. There are many great opportunities for the CCA to better support anyone affected by colorectal cancer as well as increase awareness about the disease. I expect 2010 to be a banner year for the CCA," said Clay.
Tammy Ashton, former Office Manager, will now be serving as the CCA's Communication Manager increasing our outreach capabilities. Melissa Bjorklund has joined the CCA staff in Tammy's place as Operations Coordinator for the DC office.
