The information in this section is intended to empower the patient and/or caregiver to play a leading role in managing their or their loved one's healthcare by learning how to make informed treatment decisions.
A colorectal cancer diagnosis can be very overwhelming. There may be more than one treatment option to choose from and you may feel pressured to make a decision quickly. Through ongoing research, the medications used to treat cancer are continually being evaluated in different combinations. Talk to your doctor about the medications you've been prescribed, their purpose, and their potential side effects or interactions.
CCA encourages you to seek second opinions when possible. A second opinion can provide more information and help you feel more confident about the treatment plan you choose. Learn about your treatment options and talk to others who have been down the road you are beginning to travel.
