Have you been diagnosed in the last three months with Colon Cancer?
Have you been told your Colon Cancer is Stage II or Stage III?
(In other words, it has not metastasized – spread – to other organs.)
Would you be willing to help with a research study looking to document
your prospective on your treatment decisions as you make them?
The Colon Cancer Alliance is excited to announce our partnership with Research to Practice, a cancer education group.
Why did we partner with them? CCA is often asked, “How do I get the most from my medical team?” Studies, such as this, help to educate healthcare professionals about the patient experience. This series of surveys among colon cancer patients will document your perspective as you make treatment decisions. The results will be publicized and shared with oncology professionals and the cancer community as a whole. We believe educating healthcare providers on your treatment experience and ways to improve the treatment process will benefit not only the cancer community now, but future patients!
What is the goal of the study? The goal is to help future patients by sharing the views of colon cancer patients with the healthcare teams caring for cancer patient, and to create useful educational materials for people who are coping with this diagnosis.
If I agree to participate, what is expected of me? Patients who agree to participate in the study will be asked to complete a series of surveys online, each taking approximately one hour to complete. You will complete at least one survey, but you may be asked complete as many as five over the course of nine months to a year, depending on your treatment course.
Will I be compensated? Yes. For each survey you complete, you will be compensated an honorarium $50. If you complete all five surveys, you will receive a total of $250!
What will the surveys ask? The first survey will ask you general information and your perspective as a patient. The second survey will ask you to evaluate video and audio sample education materials. The next three surveys are follow-ups at three month intervals.
Ok. I am interested. What do I do now? Call Research To Practice at 800-535-0109 or email: PatientInfo@ResearchtoPractice.com. Please mention you heard about the study from the Colon Cancer Alliance. Their staff will determine your eligibility and get you registered for the study.

CCA thanks you for taking the time to consider this worthwhile project.
We are “the voice of survivors” and this is just one more way
we feel we can help facilitate getting your voice heard!
