Party for a Purpose: San Francisco’s Reason to Party
Proving that the third time really is the charm, Reason to Party hosted their third event to benefit the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) on June 16th in San Francisco, California. Reason to Party is a unique company that plans one-of-a-kind events to raise awareness and funds for causes. By harnessing the power of social media and personal networks, Reason to Party has raised thousands of dollars for deserving charities. Founded in San Francisco, it now has outposts throughout the country, from Los Angeles to New York. In their words, they strive to, “make philanthropy fun, cool, and accessible.”
Keeping to their cool esthetic, Reason to Party hosted an amazing party to benefit the CCA in June of 2012. Their Spring Gala: Speakeasy Meets 2012 combined a speak-easy theme with contemporary accents. Guests had the opportunity to wander through two levels that offered everything from digital and fine art installations and cocktails to contortionists and dance music. A silent auction also took place, raffling merchandise from noted companies like Virgin America and W Hotels. To cap off the night, CCA Board Member and noted fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo attended the VIP reception.
The CCA would like to offer its thanks and congratulations to Reason to Party for another successful party. Their spring gala raised more than $14,000 for the Blue Note Fund, a CCA program providing one-time grants to patients in active treatment for colon cancer. A special thanks also to the CCA volunteers, sponsors, and guests for making the event a success. The CCA can’t wait to see next year’s event!
