Researchers Find Possible New Test for Colon Cancer
Researchers believe they have developed a new urine test that could identify the presence of colon cancer without the use of a colonoscopy.
According to a new study published by the American Cancer Society, scientists are getting closer to finishing this urine test. They are hopeful this new test will offer patients an alternative to invasive colonoscopies.
Of 123 patients who provided urine, 60 whom had colon cancer, scientists were able to identify 16 substances that indicated the patient had colon cancer. These included increased levels of tryptophan.
