CCA Partners with Carmen Marc Valvo

The Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) was proud to partner with American fashion designer and colon cancer survivor Carmen Marc Valvo during colon cancer awareness month. The CCA and Carmen teamed up to raise awareness and funds for colon cancer and screening programs in several ways:

Dress Auction

Carmen generously donated a gown from his Black Label collection for the CCA to auction. The gown auctioned for $915, which will be used to fund awareness programs like Dress in Blue Day. The auction is now closed.

Limited Edition T-Shirt

A limited edition women's blue t-shirt, designed by Carmen, for the CCA and colon cancer awareness is available exclusively through the CCA website. Limited quantities available. Order yours now!

Fashion Show and Book Signing

On March 4th, 2011, Carmen Marc Valvo organized a fashion show and book signing at the Neiman Marcus at Tyson's Galleria in Virginia. Tickets were available exclusively through the CCA’s website. Check out pictures from the event.

Making Colon Cancer Fashionable

On Thursday, June 23rd, the CCA presented Carmen with the 2011 Making Colon Cancer Fashionable award for his work to help promote the CCA’s national Dress in Blue Day and his role in as a passionate spokesperson for the cause. Watch Carmen’s acceptance video.

American fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo is the top-selling eveningwear designer at Neiman Marcus. His lines have expanded to include an eyewear collection, a lingerie collection and swimsuit line at Victoria's Secret and, most recently, a home collection.

Carmen is an Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Ambassador and has given both his time and money to the organization, which has helped raise millions of dollars for colorectal cancer research. Valvo and his long-time friend Vanessa Williams also appeared in a national print and broadcast campaign to bring awareness to the importance of early screening.
