How To Turn Your City Blue
Create a planning team of at least 3-5 people to help you turn your city blue. They should be dedicated to the cause and have some experience planning events.
First, have a sit-down with your team and brainstorm on the best ways to get attention in your city. Write out some goals. Here are some suggestions:
- Inform. Spread the word about colon cancer and encourage people in your city to get screened. Always have information about the disease and its prevention at your events.
- Fundraise. Donations to the Colon Cancer Alliance fund our patient support programs and national awareness campaigns. Remind your potential donors that their gift is tax-deductible and goes towards a disease that we can fight and beat. A personal story goes a long way when asking for donations.
- Support. Many colon cancer survivors have never been to an event dedicated to ending colon cancer. You can create a feeling of support and hope as you rally around those fighting colon cancer and bring them into the national Colon Cancer Alliance family.
