Happy Hour
Friends enjoyed delicious blue drink specials while supporting the CCA at Madam’s Organ!
Jazz Night
We enjoyed Capital Jazz Band’s swingin’ tunes and Twins Jazz’s special blue menu! Cover charge and a portion of blue menu proceeds benefited the CCA and Chris4Life. Capital Jazz Band also generously donated 33% of the night’s CD sales!
Congratulations to Joshua Carr and Tsega Bekele, who each won a baseball signed by baseball hall of famers Andre Dawson and Gary Carter.

Tom Joyner’s Take a Loved One to the Doctor
Representatives from the CCA, Howard University, and Georgetown University spoke with more than 1,000 health-conscious people at Tom Joyner’s health fair!

Information Session at Central Union Mission
The men and women of Central Union Mission were all ears for the Colon Cancer Information Session with Dr. Andrew Sanderson and Dr. Laura Porter. About 40 people took home a screening test or signed up for the Screen 4 Life program.
Nationals Baseball Game
The CCA and Chris4Life passed out about 1,800 informational flyers at the Washington Nationals Colon Cancer Awareness Night. The CCA’s "Screen My Colon!"TM PSA aired on the jumbo screen!
Go Blue Happy Hour
About 120 people came out to Harry’s Tap Room for a happy hour to benefit Chris4Life and the CCA. With a silent auction, a raffle, and donated percentage of drink sales, we raised $5,000 to fight colon cancer!
Congratulations to Jaime Rgozinski who won three lower level Redskins tickets to the Buccaneers game.
Bottoms Up for Colon Cancer Awareness
The CCA and Stop Colon Cancer Now gathered at the Mighty Pint for good times, great drinks, and even better raffle prizes! Congratulations to Jan-Michael Sacharko who won an iPad and Amy Herring who won 4 premier seating tickets to any final home game for D.C. United!
Happy Hour at Tabaq Bistro
Thanks to Debra Minor-Hairston for organizing a fundraiser at Tabaq Bistro featuring happy hour drinks and live jazz with a trumpet player. Tabaq Bistro donated 10% of drink sales to the CCA.
DC Undy 5000 5K Run/1 Mile Walk
We had 400 people grab their boxer shorts and help us raise funds to end colon cancer. This fun event was a great success! See race results and awards.
All week:
Lawsons Gourmet sold blue star cookies with information on colon cancer so these sweets were delicious and educational.
All month:
The YWCA offered free group exercise classes at every Thursday during September. All you had to do was wear blue to get in for free!
